Remember in that episode of the West Wing when Belarus comes to the White House for inspiration on a new constitution? The staff were adamant that the American system is not one to be emulated.

I concur.

Granted, I'm Canadian and used to our parliamentary system. But come on, a president with veto power from one party, and a house of representatives from an other. Don't get me started on the senate (Rhode Island and New York have the same number of senators!) .

At least there will be an other election in two years (for the entire house of representative, 33% of the senate).
