Crocodile Hunter Dead at 44

Category: TV

Steve Irwin, the Australian naturalist, was killed today by a stingray on Australia's famous barrier reef.

The 44 year old father of two was known as the Crocodile Hunter for his interaction with crocodiles . He even had an unfortunate Micheal Jackson type lapse in judgment putting his baby son within metres of a large Australian crocodile, for the benefit of a live audience and TV viewers.

When babies were not involved, adults and children loved his "will he be eaten today" interaction with dangerous animals. Infotainment at its best, no doubt.

A real life Crocodile Dundee; killed by a fish at age 44.

Well, that is certainly sad news. The guy was nothing if not entertaining. I remember the baby incident, and I wondered then what his wife thought about his antics.
He seemed like a good guy all round, and certainly curious, brave and fearless.
The world lost a one-of-a-kind person today.
At least he died with his boots on.

There is NOTHING humorous about a man's death. A father no less.
